Alongside his twin brother Mike, Dan Pletch arrived at McMaster in 2002 as a member of Canada’s U19 national program and proceeded to form the bedrock of a dynastic Marauders rugby squad in the early 2000s. He helped the Marauders to four OUA titles between 2002 and 2006, and a silver medal in 2004, while being named as an OUA All-Star on three occasions. He was a finalist for the Ivor Wynne Award as McMaster’s Male Athlete of the Year in both 2005 and 2006, and received the Trillium Award as the OUA’s Best All-Around Player in 2004. The brothers represented Canada together at 2007 Rugby World Cup, with Dan concluding his international career with 31 caps.
