CATHERINE (MILLER) RAY ‘38
Basketball, Track and Field (posthumous)

Though Catherine was very skilled at basketball, she made her name mostly in track & field. She qualified as a hurdler for the 1940 Olympics, but the war prevented her from competing. On three occasions she earned the Chancellor's Medal at McMaster for outstanding ability in sport. She was also heavily involved on the administrative side of amateur sports -- including ten years as President of the renowned Hamilton Olympic Track & Field Club -- receiving a number of special honours for her tireless efforts. Catherine is survived by four children.
