Benoit Chapdelaine started his prolific career as the quarterback of the Maroon & Grey by being named OUA Rookie of the Year in 1997. He went on to lead McMaster to its first ever Yates Cup football championship in 2000 and a title repeat in 2001. A team captain for four of his five years as a Marauder, Chapdelaine was recognized as a first-team OUA All-Star on four occasions and as a CIS All-Canadian three times.
