The 1984 Men's four-by-800 metre Track and Field relay team consisted of Mark Allison, John Willett, Paul Kelly, and George Kepenyes (Kep-pen-yes). This quartet’s dominant season was on full-display in the build up to their race in the the OUAA Indoor Track Championships, and led them to earn an opportunity to compete at the CIS National Championships in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

The team lit the indoor track on fire by setting a record time of seven minutes, 36.6 seconds in the four-by-800 at the national championships (a record which still stands today) and came home to Hamilotn with the CIS gold medal. Their accomplishments on the track and dedication to the maroon and grey have earned them the well-deserved recognition and honour of being inducted into the McMaster Athletic Hall of Fame as one of the best Marauder teams in school history.
