PITA PIT ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - NOVEMBER 5-12

SHANE BEATON

Linebacker Shane Beaton (Brampton, ON) led a ferocious McMaster defense that controlled the Guelph Gryphons en route to winning McMaster’s sixth Yates Cup title. The fifth-year veteran had 10 solo tackles, including three tackles for a loss and one pass knockdown as he was all over the field for the Maroon. Beaton was recognized for his effort with the Dalt White Trophy as the MVP of the Yates Cup game.

VICTORIA COATES

This veteran runner won her first individual CIS Cross Country medal over the weekend when she finished third at the CIS Championships in London. The Newmarket native ran the 5km race in a time of 17:31.4 and was named a CIS First-Team All-Canadian. This is her second time being named a CIS First-Team All-Canadian in her career and her fourth team medal as the Marauders took second place overall.
